FORGING
During the forging process, SAE1045 steel can be heated to forging temperature and then hammered or pressed into the desired shape. Forging can improve the microstructure of the steel and improve its mechanical properties. After forging, SAE1045 steel can be further enhanced by heat treatment, such as quenching and tempering to increase hardness and toughness.
