Si: 0.10-0.35
Mn: 0.5-0.8
P: ≤0.05
S: ≤0.05
Cr: 0.9-1.5
Mo: 0.2-0.4
MECHANICAL PROPERTIES
Tensile strength (kgf/mm²): ≥95
Elongation (%): ≥14
Cross section reduction rate (%): ≥40
Impact value (J/cm2): ≥6
Hardness (Hb) : 352-362
HEAT TREATMENT
Normalizing: 840-880°C, Cooling in air
Annealing: 790-840°C, slow cooling in a furnace
Quenching and tempering: 830-860°C, rapidly cooling in oil or water. Afterwards, the material is tempered in the temperature range of 540-680°C to reduce internal stress after quenching and improve toughness.
Stress relief: In the quenched and tempered state, the stress relief temperature of 709M40 steel is usually 30-50°C lower than the tempering temperature. In the annealed state, the stress relief temperature is 600-650°C, followed by cooling in air.
FORGING
En19 steel is forged at 926 to 1205°C
