Tool steel is a type of high-alloy steel designed for use in the manufacture of a variety of cutting tools, molds, and other high-shear mechanical applications. It is mainly divided into high-speed steel (HSS), cold work tool steel, hot work tool steel, impact-resistant tool steel and special-purpose tool steel. The main characteristics of tool steel are heat resistance, wear resistance, heat resistance, heat resistance, and thermal shock resistance.
Proper selection and treatment of tool steel are critical to the performance and longevity of the tools made from it.
